Our Philosophy | Creative Minds Academy |

At Creative Minds Academy, we believe childhood is a time to feel safe, inspired, valued, respected, and confident.

Our philosophy is guided by the principles of the National Quality Framework (NQF), the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the NSW Child Safe Standards. We recognise that children have the right to feel safe, be heard, be respected, and actively participate in decisions that affect their lives.

We understand that families seek more than education and care. They seek meaningful relationships, trust, open communication, cultural respect, emotional security, and an environment where their child can flourish socially, emotionally, physically, creatively, and academically. We value collaborative partnerships with families and believe that respectful and transparent communication is essential in supporting each child’s wellbeing and learning journey.

At Creative Minds Academy, the safety, wellbeing, and protection of children is at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to maintaining a child safe culture where all children feel secure, respected, empowered, and protected from harm. We promote children’s voices, encourage their participation, and support their ability to express their thoughts, feelings, and choices in a safe and supportive environment.

We are committed to creating equitable opportunities where all children feel welcomed, represented, and supported.

We celebrate diversity and value inclusion. We respect and embrace the unique strengths, abilities, cultures, family structures, identities, and backgrounds of every child and family within our community.

We acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land. We value Indigenous perspectives, cultures, histories, and connections to Country and aim to embed these respectfully throughout our program and learning environments.

We believe children learn best through play, exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships. Through play-based learning and hands on experiences, children are encouraged to investigate, discover, problem solve, communicate, and develop confidence in their own abilities. We support children to become capable, resilient, and independent learners who are empowered to take risks, think creatively, and engage with the world around them.

We value the importance of outdoor play and natural learning environments in supporting children’s wellbeing, curiosity, confidence, and development. By incorporating nature into everyday experiences, children are encouraged to develop resilience, independence, environmental awareness, and a genuine appreciation for the natural world.
